It is living at home, but a home designed for the life you are living now. You enjoy all the freedom you’re accustomed to with many added features for comfort and safety. Included in your package are breakfast and dinner, housekeeping services, transportation, grounds care, emergency call service, and more. A well-trained staff of maintenance workers will take care of any repair problem that might arise. The worries are ours, not yours.

A continuing care retirement community is a convenient, satisfying place to live that brings true security and peace of mind because you have the assurance of  assisted livingskilled nursing care, and memory care on the premises, should you need it. You live in a residential community with people who share your interests and outlook. You live in your own home with your possessions but free from the stress of maintenance, housekeeping, and meal preparation.

The Pines is ideally located near scenic Keswick Lake, among 50 landscaped acres in the pinelands of southern New Jersey. We are within the Ocean County town of Whiting at the intersection of Route 530 and Schoolhouse Road. We invite you to  visit our community and see the advantages for yourself. While here you can tour the living arrangements, our grounds as well as our beautifully appointed Centrum—the central hub of The Pines.

When you choose independent living in New Jersey at The Pines, you furnish your apartment home as you like. We provide a frost-free refrigerator/freezer and electric range with oven. We also provide wall-to-wall carpeting and window coverings.

Yes. We provide free, convenient parking for you and your guests.

You can travel as long as you like, knowing that your home and possessions will remain well attended. If you are gone for two weeks or more, you will be given a credit for missed meals.

You will have a sense of safety and security knowing that you and your apartment will be protected by our 24-hour emergency call system and staffing as well as lighted parking areas and walkways. In addition, you can reach virtually any point on our campus without having to go outside if you choose to do so.

If you have special dietary requirements, our registered dietician will help you select a suitable program. Meals are carefully planned and prepared to offer a wide range of solutions.

Our Healthcare Center operates 24 hours a day, providing rehabilitation and post-hospitalization care and long-term skilled nursing care. The Healthcare Center is staffed by a team of professionals whose goal is to help you return to your residence and active life as soon as possible.

A physician who acts as Medical Director for the Healthcare Center is on call 24 hours a day. If it makes you more comfortable, you may also continue seeing your personal physician. For independent living residents, doctors are on site three days a week; licensed nurses are on duty 24 hours a day and can provide emergency assistance in your residence.

Under our all-inclusive Life Care contract you will continue to pay your regular monthly maintenance fee. Additional meals required by healthcare regulations are provided for a reasonable charge. Under our fee-for-service contract, you will eligible for a discounted health care rate.

Yes, to help you maintain your independence for as long as possible and to keep you secure in your own home, we make available in-home health services. In addition, Medicare Home Health is available through Meridian Home Health, should you require a covered service.

Each home is equipped with an emergency call system that is monitored 24 hours a day.

Keswick Pines is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization that provides residential and healthcare services. Originally formed in 1989, the company opened its community in 1995.

In January of 2007, Keswick Pines began to do business as “The Pines at Whiting” (now just “The Pines”) to distinguish ourselves from our neighbor, America’s Keswick, with whom we are not affiliated. America’s Keswick welcomes our residents to walk their trails and enjoy their programs. They offer a discounted membership to use their indoor Olympic-sized pool.

(For regulatory purposes, “Keswick Pines” remains our corporate name.)

Your monthly maintenance fee pays for the following:

  • Your choice of one meal per day plus continental buffet breakfast in our dining rooms
  • Monthly light housekeeping service and weekly linen service
  • Convenient laundry facilities
  • Water, electricity, heating, and air conditioning
  • Property taxes
  • Lawn and landscaping services
  • Scheduled transportation service
  • On-premises skilled nursing care as well as the area’s only licensed assisted living community. Each apartment has a 24-hour monitored emergency call system*
  • Free, convenient parking for you and your guests
  • All recreational and community facilities plus a planned cultural and entertainment program under the supervision of a full-time recreation director
  • Modern fitness center led by a trained fitness professional

* Not available on all contracts.

Yes, for Life Care, portions of both fees allocated to health care have been considered an acceptable tax deduction by the Internal Revenue Service. Please- consult your own tax consultant.

For adults 62 and older, a refundable deposit amounting to 10% of your total entrance fee plus a non-refundable processing fee per person will give you the opportunity to reserve your own home at The Pines.

Your guests—children, grandchildren, friends, and relatives are always welcome to visit you in your home. They can also enjoy meals with you in the dining room for a minimal charge, sharing the enjoyment of your new community. A guest room is also available for overnight guests at a nominal charge.
